Marketing & Communications Assistant (Voluntary Undergraduate Placement) x 1

As part of a small Marketing and Communications team you will undertake on the job training and experience key aspects of marketing and communications in the sport, physical activity and well-being sector. Further training and professional development opportunities will be available as part of the role, including:

  • Specific marketing and communications training.
  • Behaviour change and customer service training.
  • Safeguarding.
  • Website and social media.
  • Design software, e.g. Adobe.

We are looking for a highly motivated, creative and enthusiastic undergraduate with a passion for pursuing a career in marketing and communications. You can expect to be involved in supporting the delivery of our local campaigns, developing social media and website content and promoting our sport and physical activity programmes.

The position will be based with Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport at SportPark, Loughborough University. Although the position is voluntary, expenses will be paid (travel and any work related expenses). The position will require candidates to be able to travel easily around their locality area and potentially across the county, so although public transport could be relied upon, access to and use of a car would be preferable.

The closing date for applications is 15 February 2019, with interviews expected to be held on Friday 1 March, at SportPark, Loughborough University. The start date for the positions is negotiable, particularly if you need to begin your placement early.

Sports Development Assistant (Voluntary Undergraduate Placement) x 2

We are looking for a 2 highly motivated and enthusiastic undergraduates with a passion for pursuing a career in the sport, physical activity or health sector to join the Leicester-Shire and Rutland Sport team. You will work across the team to support a range of development functions and events including the School Games, Talented Athlete scheme and Workplace Health. You will be involved and support a range of projects, programmes and initiatives to ensure a balanced experience. Further training and professional development opportunities will be available as part of the role including:

  • Event management
  • Behaviour change and customer service training
  • Safeguarding and risk assessment
  • Volunteer management and development
  • Sports specific training

The positions will be based with Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport at SportPark, Loughborough University, up to 37 hours per week. Although the position is voluntary, expenses will be paid (travel and any work related expenses). The position will require candidates to be able to travel easily around their locality area and potentially across the county, so although public transport could be relied upon, access to and use of a car would be preferable.
